TWENTY TWENTY WAS A BLUR
2020 was a blur, February began my graduation from a Tantric Yoga and Shamanic Arts school (
www.durgastigertantrayoga.com), to the shut down of the world and quarantine at the Equator, to the news of grandma’s cancer, April 7 when COVID became personal and John Prine went to heaven; my stolen identity and Facebook account held at ransom, the decision to move forward releasing “Lessons And Lovers” on April 24, and May 6 the Super Moon when reality sunk in, and finally landing of this tune on August 8th, 2020.
Funny how memory dances in time.
Good to look back to see how it moves.
I awoke on the second floor with the balcony, Sabrina’s old room, reached for the guitar (crafted and lent by the mountain’s luthier, for sanity during quarantimes), and this song fell out, as the true ones often do.

Funny I felt it came from JOHN PRINE in heaven himself for my birthday on the 9th. (PHOTOS? Eventually)
… I like to tell that story though I know its magic is just for me.
The Spring of 2021, weeks before Browneyes (Grandma) went to the other realm, THE HIGHLIFE: Alessandro Corona, Eric Dietrich, Anna Applegate, Eric Cronstein and Wonky Tonk (in the voice of Arlo in Alice’s Restaraunt) recorded this tune and captured this moment at the ToneShoppe in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In the autumn of 2022 RICH TARBELL and I got together at Richie Heart Studios in Charlottesville, Virginia. to make use of the dregs of another project, like we tend to do.

My Mom, in love with the 5th Element, sent a silver hole punch suit and some light up wings. The aftermath of a music video for SHAGWUF became our canvas. RIch and I back in the creative dialogue we tend to make beautiful things even though it takes a while to take root, blossom and fruit.

This video is a continuation of “BREAKING PATTERNS” released in 2022 on the same day Wingz was released on Maker’s Mark : Picked, Sipped, and Dipped

Wingz then made it’s first debut in 2023 on Woodsongs Radio Hour with the Kody Norris Band (

The official video now, three years after song conception, makes its way to the internet.
The video Is a study on peering into your own brain, becoming your own fairy godfather: there’s no place like home.
Observing the observer observe.
Reflections,
smears of color,
easy to get lost,
and hard to make sense.
